What Is IASIS Microcurrent Neurofeedback?

We proudly serve the Boise, Meridian and Eagle areas of Idaho

IASIS Microcurrent Neurofeedback is different than the older style of neurofeedback where a QEEG (brain map) was needed in order to get the protocols to treat someone’s brain. In the older style, the brain was going to be trained through what is called “Operant Conditioning” where it is encouraged and rewarded for doing the right things. We had to have the brain map tell us what the protocols should be in order to “train” the brain.” This type of neurofeedback trains the effects of a dysregulated brain.

IASIS Microcurrent Neurofeedback gets more to the cause of the dysregulation and “UN-trains” the faulty pattern and balance between the “sympathetic nervous system” (fight or flight) and the “parasympathetic nervous system” (rest/digest/heal/feel good/sleep). This brings people out of what is called “Sympathetic Freeze” which is a condition where they don’t heal well, don’t rest well, don’t feel well, don’t sleep well, can be anxious, angry and hypervigilant with OCD and headaches and more!

The IASIS Microcurrent Neurofeedback Process

The patient is relaxed and sitting in a chair. Small electrodes are placed on the scalp and moved to different lobes during the session according to their protocol. This does not require long periods of sitting watching a movie or show. It is not dependent on anything the patient can or cannot do. There is no skill the patient has to acquire in order for a session to be successful. Movement does not negate any part of any session. This is not the case in Operant Conditioning Neurofeedback and this is why IASIS Microcurrent Neurofeedback is so effective for even little, wiggly kids who have ADHD!

Child ADDTraining the brain using IASIS Microcurrent Neurofeedback can change these brainwaves over time, adjusting them into normal, healthy ranges. It can improve alertness, attention, emotional regulation, behavior, cognitive function, and mental flexibility. When the brain moves back into normal ranges, users will often see a reduction in symptoms.

The best part of neurofeedback is that results are often permanent, allowing a person to reduce or even eliminate medications altogether. Where medications only manage the symptoms, the goal of IASIS Microcurrent Neurofeedback is to address the underlying cause and restore normal brainwave functions.
